Finding the right home is stressful enough without an agent making it harder. At RedDoor Homes, we try to make renting as straightforward as it should be — clear communication, fast referencing, honest answers and a property management team you can reach once you’re in.
We let properties across Medway, Canterbury and East Kent, covering everything from studio apartments and family homes to student accommodation and professional house shares. If you’re looking for a home in the region, register with us and we’ll match you to properties as they come to market.

1. Register Your Interest
Tell us what you’re looking for — area, size, budget, timing — and we’ll add you to our applicant database.
When a suitable property comes to market, you’ll hear from us directly, often before it’s publicly advertised.

2. Viewings
We accompany every viewing. A member of our team will be there to show you around, answer your questions honestly and give you the time to make a proper decision. We don’t do hard sells.

3. Making an Offer
When you’ve found the right home, let us know. We’ll confirm the terms of the offer - rent, proposed start date, tenancy length - and put it forward to the landlord.
We’re transparent throughout and will keep you updated at every step.

4. Referencing
We use an independent referencing agency to carry out your checks — employment verification, income assessment and previous landlord references.
The process is handled online and is typically completed quickly. We’ll guide you through what’s needed.

5. Tenancy Agreement
Once referenced and approved, we'll prepare all your documents and arrange for them to be signed online.
Should you have any questions at any stage please contact us and a member of the team will be happy to help.

5. Moving In
You’ll receive a detailed inventory and schedule of condition at the start of your tenancy — keep a copy. This is the record against which the property’s condition will be assessed when you leave.
A well-kept inventory protects both you and your landlord.

5. During Your Tenancy
Our property management team is based locally and available in person, by phone and online.
If something needs attention, report it via our maintenance portal and we’ll coordinate a response. We don’t ignore maintenance — a well-maintained property is better for everyone.

Tenant Fees
Under the Tenant Fees Act 2019, most letting fees previously charged to tenants are now prohibited. The only permitted payments are:
Rent
A refundable tenancy deposit (capped at five weeks’ rent for annual rents under £50,000)
A refundable holding deposit (capped at one week’s rent)
Payments for default events — such as late rent or loss of a key — where these are specified in your tenancy agreement
Payments to vary, assign or surrender a tenancy, where requested by the tenant
We comply fully with the Tenant Fees Act. If you have any questions about what you should or shouldn’t be charged, please ask us.
